machete, sticks and helmets early yesterday morning.

The assault is alleged to have taken place at the entrance to Pembroke Hamilton Football Club in Warwick at about 1 a.m.

The victim told Police that he had approached a man at the front of the club and confronted him on another matter. An associate of the man went back into the club and returned moments later with about ten friends.

They were armed with a variety of weapons and assaulted the victim who was knocked to the ground before he was able to flee.

He escaped to a friend's house, where the Police were called from, and was later taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment to bruising, scratches and a laceration to his left ear.
