A 32-year-old Hamilton Parish woman has reported to Police that she was attacked by a gang of about 15 youths in Bailey's Bay on Saturday afternoon.

A Police spokeswoman said the woman told Police that she was driving along Fractious Street at around 5 p.m. when her car was blocked by the group who refused to move out of the way.

She said she tried to inch her car forward when the boys started throwing, what was believed to be, rocks at the car which was not damaged although the woman was struck on both arms causing superficial marks.

However medical attention was not required and Police investigations are underway.

Witnesses to a hit and run road traffic accident involving four vehicles on Friday night, are being sought by Police.

A Police spokeswoman said a red Daewoo driven by a 42-year-old Warwick woman was travelling west in Somerset near the junction of Scaur Hill and Scaur Hill Drive just before 9 p.m..

She was followed by a Toyota driven by a 20-year-old Southampton woman and, traveling in the other direction was a grey Subaru hatchback driven by a 45-year-old Warwick woman.

The spokesman said what was believed to be a blue Subaru station wagon then struck the hatchback from behind, overtook it and glanced the red Daewoo which was pushed to the left and rammed from behind by the Toyota.

Meanwhile the unknown vehicle continued east without stopping.

The spokeswoman said no-one was believed to have been seriously injured but anyone who witnessed the accident -- or had information about it -- were asked to contact P.c. James Hoyte at 234-1010.

The Police are investigating four reports of breaking, entering and theft -- and a handbag snatching involving an 84-year-old female visitor -- which occurred over the weekend.

The North Carolina resident said she was walking near Barr's Bay Park after finishing dinner at 10 p.m. on Saturday when she felt that her purse -- which was tucked under her arm -- had gone, said a Police spokeswoman.

She turned and saw a man, she described as being young, tall and long-legged, running away. She added that he was also wearing dark clothing and had an athletic build.

The purse was described as a red plaid clutch with a silver clasp and contained cash, a passport, medical cards and other personal items.

A 43-year-old Spring Hill, Warwick, resident reported the theft of cash and jewellry, including three gold rings and three gold chains, from her home on Friday morning.

Meanwhile Police also responded to Sandys' Laundromat on Saturday where a couple of bank bags containing cash and other miscellaneous items had been stolen.

And Police attended Davidson's on Front Street at 6 p.m. on Saturday where a sizable amount of cash had been stolen from the store's safe.
