brightest into the public service'' while downplaying the negative stereotypes associated with the civil service during an exposition on December 21.

The Bermuda Government Career Expo will showcase the Government as a "first choice employer'', announced Cabinet Secretary Mr. Leo Mills during a press conference yesterday morning at Global House.

Director of Personnel Services Mrs. Judith Hall Bean said every department within the Government would be represented along with employment information.

She added that there would be information booths, lectures and a "reality booth'' showing projected job openings and employment trends over the next ten years.

Mrs. Hall Bean stressed that it would be an expo, not a job fair, and that Government were trying to help students who were planning their futures "make better choices''.

Personnel Services training manager Ms Lori Richards said the expo was a project for the Middle Management Development Programme. Seventeen members of the civil service had participated in the programme over the last year and this expo would be a culmination of what they had learnt.

Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo Supervisor Mr. James Conyers said he had participated in the programme and was looking forward to addressing young people with whom he could use his new skills.

He said the most important thing people could do while at the expo was to ask questions about what the Government was offering.
