36-year-old Devonshire man who admitted possessing more than two grams of cocaine.

Dwight Booth of Frog Lane, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to possessing 2.52 grams of 87 percent pure cocaine on March 28.

Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said that officers were travelling in the area of Flatts Hill and Harrington Sound Road when they saw Booth in the front seat of a taxi.

Acting on information, they approached the vehicle and Booth promptly locked the front and rear doors on his side of the car.

The officers were able to gain entry through the other rear door and they searched the accused and found a plastic twist with white powder in his front pocket.

An analyst's report revealed that the drug was 87 percent pure and weighed 2.52 grams.

Kim Wilson, representing Booth, asked for a social inquiry report and Booth was bailed for $1,000 and ordered to appear before the court on November 6 for sentence.
