pleading guilty to two separate charges of dangerous driving and one of driving without due care.

Malik Donahue Outerbridge, of Loyal Hill in Devonshire, admitted going through a stop sign and hitting a car at the junction of North Street and Till's Hill Road in Pembroke on May 15, 1992, pack racing in a group of 10 to 15 motorcycles on The Lane in Paget on May 17, 1992, and travelling at speeds of up to 90 kph while refusing to stop for Police on May 31, 1992.

He also admitted charges of obstructing Police in their efforts to search him for drugs in connection with the May 31 incident and not having a driver's licence in order.

Outerbridge received two 12-month bans suspended for one year.

DRUG PIPE FOUND CTS Drug pipe found A rainy afternoon on May 8 proved costly for a 35-year-old Hamilton Parish man who was stopped for speeding along Middle Road in Paget.

Ivan Vance Fubler, of Cottage Hill, pleaded guilty to speeding at 60 kph, driving while disqualified, and having in his possession a glass bottle pipe which was later analysed and found to contain illegal drug residue.

Fubler told Magistrates' Court yesterday, however, that he had borrowed the coat in which the pipe was found, and was unaware it was there.

"You probably hear this story every day but it weren't mine,'' Fubler told Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. John Judge. "I borrowed a raincoat and didn't know it was in there.'' Fubler was sentenced to one month in prison, suspended for two years, and fined $400 for possession of the pipe. For the charge of speeding, he received a $300 fine and was disqualified from driving for 12 months. He was also banned for a further 18 months for driving while disqualified.

SENTENCE DELAYED CTS Sentence delayed Sentencing has been delayed for a single mother of two facing charges of possession of an offensive weapon and causing wilful damage, pending the outcome of a social inquiry report.

Patrina Sherio Lovell, 20, of Harlem Heights in Hamilton Parish, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court yesterday to charges of throwing a fire brick through a slatted glass door of a residence, possessing a three foot length of wood with a nail protruding through the end, and throwing a cement brick through the windscreen of a car, all in connection with an incident that occurred at a Foots Hill Road residence in Devonshire on April 24.

The court heard Lovell had been placed on probation several times previously for a number of offences ranging from breaking and entering and theft, to forgery, obstruction, and false pretences dating back to 1991.

Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. John Judge said "quite obviously probation doesn't work'' in ordering a social inquiry report into the matter. The case was adjourned until June 29.

OFFER DECLINED CTS Offer declined An unemployed Pembroke man who pleaded guilty to a charge of obstruction only "to avoid a trial of lies'' was fined $200 yesterday and told to find some way of paying, even if that meant "washing cars''.

"Perhaps I could start by washing your car, your honour,'' William Houghton Richardson, 42, told Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. John Judge. Mr. Judge declined the offer.

Richardson was arrested on May 10 in an alley off Elliott Street in Pembroke.

He reportedly told Police he had thrown away a packet of brown powder and told them to "go and get it'', said prosecutor, Acting Insp. Rex Osborne. Police also took away a bottle of beer from Richardson.

TRIAL DATES CTS Trial dates A trial date of September 28 was yesterday set for a Pembroke man charged with unlawful wounding, unlawful entry, and malicious damage. Scott Eugene Darrell, 23, of Valley View Lane, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates' Court to all three charges.

And a trial date of October 25 was set for a Pembroke man charged with assaulting Police, being in control of a dog which caused injury, resisting arrest, and escaping lawful custody. Abdul Kareem Smith, 24, of Glebe Road, pleaded not guilty to all charges.
