High praise for island
markets.
The latest indication the campaign is having an impact comes from Time Magazine which recently received a letter of praise from a reader.
Mr. John Rhatigan of New Jersey wrote to the magazine congratulating their marketing department on running a Bermuda Shorts ad (see above).
In the letter addressed to Mr. David Gitow, the magazine's consumer marketing director, Mr. Rhatigan said the Bermuda campaign in few images tells the "complete story'' of a visit to the Island.
"We have been to Bermuda seven times,'' he said, "three by air and four on cruises. The ad is so right -- `Bermuda. A short trip to a perfect holiday.' "The page tells the complete story of a visit to Bermuda. The pictures brought back so many memories: Afternoon tea, and those little girls in school uniforms are delightful.
"I don't know if you or your marketing department get many fan letters, but you certainly should consider this as one.'' The campaign was created by Tourism's New York-based advertiser DDB-Needham and runs in dozens of North American magazines and newspapers.
