lawsuit filed in September 1991 following the death of Bermudian entertainer Ms Wendy Wilkinson.
The suit was filed after a coroner's jury ruled Ms Wilkinson's death -- of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident -- had been "aggravated by a lack of professional care.'' The writ seeking more than $10 million had been initially filed against the Hospitals Board and surgeon Dr. James King.
Wilkinson family attorney Mr. Saul Froomkin last night told The Royal Gazette a claim was still outstanding against Dr. King: "The notice of discontinuance has only been issued to the Hospitals Board,'' he said.
