The resident chased the intruder, who was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap, out of the house and along Rosemont Avenue, where he was last seen.
Two women left their Harbour Road home in Paget for a few hours on Sunday night, and returned to find they had been robbed of $125 in cash and a pair of earrings.
Meanwhile, a thief broke into a Grosvenor Court house in Pembroke and stole $160 in cash while the owner slept.
And at around 10.30 p.m. on Sunday thieves entered a home on Mill Shares Road, Pembroke, and took a handbag, which was later found minus $32.
COSTLY CANNABIS CTS Costly cannabis A Warwick man who brought a quantity of cannabis into the Island was yesterday fined $250 in Magistrates' Court.
Police Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, told the court that on the evening of July 30, Michael McRyan Davis of Spice Hill was stopped by airport authorities after arriving on an evening flight.
A plastic bag containing 1.53 grams of cannabis was found in the jeans pocket of the 26-year-old. He told attending officers that the drug was for his own use.

A 19-year-old Sandys Parish woman claims that she was raped on the beach, in Southampton. The 22-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident, which allegedly happened on Sunday night, is known to the woman.

Police report that a Warwick woman, who left her Cedar Hill house unoccupied for the weekend, returned home to find that someone had forced open the door.
The intruder had tried to enter two locked bedrooms but failed. Nothing was stolen.
Staff at a Southampton business discovered that the premises had been broken into, possibly on Saturday night. Again nothing was missing.
