Garber Travel's 24-page 45th Annual World Travel Guide was carried in The Boston Globe at the weekend.

Half the front page features a photo of Horseshoe Bay with two inserted pictures of Marriott's Castle Harbour Golf Course and Manor House in Smith's Parish.

The article, which begins on the front page and continues inside on page five, is entitled "Bermuda, Your Total Island Country Club'' and is written by Magic Carpet Vacations' product manager Tom Patten.

"Discover the island where the grass is greener, the sky is bluer, and your experience will stay with you forever.

"From the first view of Bermuda as seen from the airplane to the last long lingering look on your way home, Bermuda is the vacation paradise you will remember for a lifetime,'' wrote Mr. Patten.

Bermuda is ideal for a quick getaway or a relaxing week at the beach, he continued, because of its wide range of accommodations -- which are explained, proximity to the East Coast of the US and its moderate year-round climate.

Grotto Bay and Harmony Club are the two accommodations mentioned by name and described in the article.

Also getting specific mentions are Horseshoe Bay, John Smith's Bay, Clearwater Beach, Turtle Bay, Tobacco Bay, the Bermuda National Gallery, the Bermuda Maritime Museum at the Royal Naval Dockyard and artist Carole Holding.

Bermuda's excellent public transportation system is mentioned as are taxis, the lack of rental cars and the availability of mopeds.

But, warned Mr. Patten, driving a moped on the left side of the road "can also be a dangerous way to get around, and not recommended for everyone''.

The article does make one slip up however.
