Bermuda's first Dame, Marjorie Bean.

Government has decided with the consent of the family of the late Dame that in recognition of her "remarkably rich career'' elements of an "official funeral'' will be added to her funeral slated for 2 p.m. at St. Paul's AME Church today.

As a consequence of this the funeral cortege will be escorted by Police outriders. Members of the Bermuda Regiment will act as pallbearers and a Regimental bugler will play the Last Post at the conclusion of the funeral.

Dame Marjorie, who was renowned for her work as an educator, died last Thursday at the age of 91.
