groups of volunteers picking up trash at various parts of Bermuda.

KBB are providing the litter fighters with trash bags, T-shirts and refreshments that were donated by Metro Mineral Water and John Barritt & Son.

Fourteen tons of trash were collected last year but KBB executive director Lennox Boodram was hoping less would be collected this year.

"It is better to pick up less trash than more in this instance,'' he said, "as it would mean that we are making progress.'' Amongst the clean-up teams will Acting Premier Dame Lois Browne-Evans at Spanish Point.

Mr. Boodram called for a change in legislation to increase people's consciousness regarding littering: "There is no punitive reason not to litter.'' Members of the Public are encouraged to come out and join the clean-up teams who will be working at: Clearwater Nature Reserve and beach, Cut Road, Ferry Point Road, John Smith's Bay, Summerhaven, Somers Hill, Radnor & Devon Springs roads, Devonshire Bay, Point Finger Road, Spanish Point Park, Watford Bridge, Random Lane, Warwick Pond, Astwood Cove, Railway Trail behind Spice Valley school, Brighton Hill and opposite Bermuda Bowl in Warwick.
