0.0028 acres of land that is required to build a bus shelter on Middle Road in Southampton.

But before the matter was disposed of PLP Sen. Terry Lister wanted to know what criteria Government used to select sites for bus shelters.

He pointed to the budget outlined that three shelters would be built at a cost of $50,000 each.

And he said that amount was a little high.

Sen. Lister asked whether plans were afoot to put the work out to tender for a more competitive price.

Sen. Gary Pitman (UBP) said the work would only be tendered if workers from the Ministry of Works and Engineering were unavailable.

"We do have to keep individuals employed there occupied,'' he said.

The proposal was then approved.
