lawyers to throw out drugs charges against two women.

Sharon Tyrell, 50, and Jacqueline Brangman, 51, both of St. George's, are charged with importing cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

Their respective defence lawyers, Mr. Philip Perinchief and Mr. Archibald Warner, have submitted there is no case to answer.

They spent much of yesterday putting their arguments to the Chief Justice in the jury's absence.

Last Friday, the Crown closed its case in the Supreme Court trial.

The Court has heard a grey duffel bag, alleged to belong to Tyrell, was searched at the Civil Air Terminal on October 23, 1993 and was found to include a jacket containing cannabis valued at more than $100,000.
