David's Lighthouse to the general public -- several days ahead of schedule.

The lighthouse's summer season usually ends after Labour Day, but because the holiday is later this year, eight of the department's ten seasonal park rangers have already returned to college.

Mr. Bill Cook, Assistant Director, Parks, said that this has left the department short-staffed and that the remaining park rangers were needed for beach and park patrols.

However, tours of the lighthouse can be scheduled for interested groups by contacting the Park Ranger Office at 236-5902 or 236-4201.
