Lindo's set to become larger

Applications Board has given principal approval for plans for the supermarket on Watlington Road to make both its retail and warehouse space larger.

The permission also includes plans for parking above the building and additional car and motorcycle parking to the southwest of the property. In total there will be space for 77 cars and 57 cycles.

Several conditions were attached to the approval with the DAB stipulating that landscaping of the entire site must happen within three months of an occupancy permit.

Provisions for surface water drainage and safe flow of traffic must be incorporated.

A proposed five stable addition at Spicelands Riding School on the Middle Road in Warwick has been approved by the DAB. The plans also call for a canal reinstatement to control mosquitoes. The DAB granting approval, noted that the Department of Health should be notified before the canal works begin.

Efforts by Noah's Ark Feed & Supply Store to make better use of their space have been approved by the DAB.

The business at Marsh Lane in Devonshire will see an increase in the retail and office space. Housed within a warehouse, the DAB have stipulated that no more than a quarter of the total floor area can be used in this regard.

In addition, parking and manoeuvring spaces for 19 cars and 17 cycles must be provided.

Indian food is proving very popular with local residents and is enabling at least one company to expand its operation.
