Sunday night appeared before Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis yesterday.

John Edward Thompson, 39, is accused of grabbing Davana Roberts around the neck, punching her in the face and stealing her rucksack after a brief struggle on Water Street.

Thompson was remanded in custody until March 29, when his case comes up for mention.
