Man admits impaired driving
while impaired.
Wyman Minks, 35, of Happy Valley Road, pleaded guilty before Senior Magistrate Will Francis yesterday to riding his motorcycle on Front Street on September 26 last year with almost four times the legal limit.
Crown counsel Larry Mussenden said Minks was involved in a two-car accident while riding his motorcycle on Front Street when Police suspected him of driving while impaired.
The court was told that when officers arrived on the scene, Minks' eyes appeared glazed and his breath smelled of intoxicants.
Minks told officers that he had one drink. He was not charged in relation to the traffic accident.
But breathalyser tests taken at Hamilton Police Station showed that Minks' had 306 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
Minks was fined $500 and disqualified from driving all motor vehicles for the next 12 months.
