its occupant with a machete appeared yesterday before Senior Magistrate Will Francis after being charged with four indictable offences including armed robbery.

Wayne Eugene Smith, address unknown, was also charged with stealing by threat and inflicting bodily harm; break, enter and theft; and breaking into the workshop of his 53-year-old victim.

It is alleged that around midnight on September 13 Smith broke into a Pembroke home and, brandishing a machete, robbed its occupant of $230.

Appearing without counsel, Smith, who is to be arraigned in Supreme Court at a later date, reserved the right to make application for bail once he has obtained a lawyer.
