Hamilton Parish man accused of stabbing a man and tampering with a witness.

Kamal Jamal Trott, 22, was remanded into custody on Tuesday after Mr. King set a long form preliminary inquiry for February 19 in Magistrates' Court.

Preliminary inquiries are held to establish if there is sufficient evidence for the case to be sent up to the Supreme Court.

Trott, of Kitty's Lane, is charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm to Curtis Richardson on November 24.

He is also charged with offering cash and drugs to Mr. Richardson to withhold testimony on the wounding complaint.

The alleged incident occurred at the Shelly Bay laundromat.

Trott is believed to have left the scene and returned wielding a machete and issuing threats.

Crown counsel Peter Eccles is the prosecutor and lawyer Philip Perinchief is defending.
