Affairs Permanent Secretary Ernie Owen when he appeared at the monthly Supreme Court arraignment session yesterday.

Robinson, 41, of Kitty Lane, Hamilton Parish, was represented by lawyer Mr.

Julian Hall. He is charged with causing Owen's death by reckless driving on March 25, 1995.

He was also charged with causing Owen's death by dangerous driving, driving while impaired and failing to give a Police officer a breath sample when the request was made of him.

Mr. Hall argued that it was improper for his client to enter a plea to those other charges because there were other legal issues that needed to be addressed first.

Mr. Hall asked that the matter be mentioned on January 2. He said that at that time the germane legal points would be argued.

Chief Justice the Hon. Mr. Justice Ward released Robinson on bail and ordered him to reappear on January 2.

In other arraignments yesterday: Kent Joseph Trott pleaded not guilty to attempting to export $59,400 in American currency on July 25.

Trott, 32, of Wellington Road, St. George's, was released on $10,000 bail and one surety. He will appear on December 1. He was represented by lawyer Mr.

Edward Bailey.

Lisa Deborah James, 25, of Mount Road St. David's denied importing cocaine and possessing the drug with intent to supply on February 19, 1995.

She was bailed to reappear on January 2. She was represented by lawyer Mr.

Archie Warner.

Damion Wayne Smith 22, of North Shore Road, Pembroke was not required to enter a plea to a charge that he murdered Reginald Chesterfield Wilson.

His lawyer, Mr. Archie Warner, objected that his client had not been given a preliminary inquiry before the matter was committed to the Supreme Court.

Mr. Warner argued that this matter has to be settled before any plea can be taken from his client.

The Chief Justice set the matter down for Friday at 2.30 p.m. where lawyers will argue the legal points.
