Gladstone H. Headlam was ordered on Monday by Chief Justice Austin Ward to return on July 1 for a trial date to be set.

Mr. Justice Ward also imposed new bail at $10,000. Headlam was originally charged on April 12 last year in Magistrates' Court released on $500 bail.

Also in arraignments on Monday, Mr. Justice Ward set June 9 as the trial date for Janice Elizabeth Dayle-Smith, of 25 King Street, Pembroke, and Vincent Oneal Douglas.

Both have pleaded not guilty to one charge of importing a controlled drug and one charge of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.

Twenty-year-old Damon Quincy Deroza of Warwick, charged with the premeditated murder of his child, 5-year-old Lynae Brown, was also remanded in custody to July 1 pending more psychiatric evaluations.

Two American women and one man -- charged separately with drugs offences -- were also arraigned. Seventeen-year-old Miah Jade Lewis -- who has admitted importing diamorphine (heroin) and possessing heroin intended for supply -- is being held pending court-ordered psychiatric evaluations.

Twenty-six-year-old Jennifer Scott, of Long Island, New York, was also ordered to return for July 1 arraignments. She was charged on February 6 with importing $36,000 worth of cocaine.

Mr. Justice Ward scheduled 22-year-old Albert Omar Peyton to face retrial on June 19. Peyton's first trial in December -- on charges he imported nearly $250,000 worth of cocaine -- resulted in a hung jury.

Meanwhile Brian Carlton Rogers -- who last October had his conviction on charges of escaping prison, entering into a dwelling house and stealing overturned in the Bermuda Court of Appeal -- was ordered to appear on Friday morning to be arraigned on another charge. He has also been ordered to stand retrial, though no date has yet been fixed.
