Shed on Front Street, yesterday cost a 25-year-old Warwick man $400 and got him taken off the road for a year.

James E. Sparrow, of Pearman Hill, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to riding an auxiliary cycle while impaired on November 18.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant said Police were on patrol at about 2.55 a.m. when they saw a cycle riding in an erratic manner.

The officers stopped Sparrow on Trimingham Hill and noticed that he was unsteady on his feet.

When asked by Police if he had been drinking Sparrow replied: "Yeah, I had a few beers.'' Sgt. Grant said Sparrow had 190 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milligrams of blood.

Sparrow told Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis he had attended a rugby party at Number One Shed and had planned to take a taxi home.

But he was attacked by someone and as a result of that assault had a difficult time securing a taxi.

He added that after the attack he was upset and decided to just drive himself home.
