under the influence of alcohol was fined $150 in Magistrates' Court.

Vincent Whitter, of Hermitage Road, Devonshire, was found asleep in the staff room at Elliott Primary School by the school's janitor.

Whitter pleaded guilty to trespassing.

Police prosecutor, Insp. Peter Duffy said the janitor entered the staff room at 7 a.m. on January 29 where he found Whitter asleep on the couch.

The janitor attempted to confront Whitter but he ran into the school where he hid under a table in the library until he was found by Police.

Whitter told Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis that he was living with his father and only spent the night at the Devonshire school so he could recover from a bout of drinking.

"It was a couple of days after Christmas,'' he said. "I was well under the influence of alcohol. I'm not blaming the alcohol but I just wandered the wrong way.''
