Earlston L. DeShields, of St. John's Road pleaded guilty to the charge yesterday.
Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, told the court that between 10 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on May 9, DeShields cut a hole in the security grill of his sister's home.
"One hundred and seventy dollars was stolen from her handbag,'' said Insp.
Duffy.
"After being arrested, DeShields admitted to using tools to cut the security system and stealing the cash. When asked why he stole the money, Deshields told Police that he was going to buy parts for his motorcycle.''
