Man stole vodka from grocery store
42-year-old Sandys Parish man.
David Anthony Sousa, of Huntley Lane, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to stealing a bottle of vodka from The MarketPlace in Somerset on September 6.
According to Police Prosecutor Sgt. John Dale, Sousa left a bag containing liquor, which he bought from another store, with an employee at the front of the store.
After paying for his groceries, and having money left over, Sousa went back to do some more shopping. He left his bags of groceries with the bag containing the liquor.
When he returned, Sousa discovered the bags were gone, Sgt. Dale said. Staff told him to pick up another set of the same groceries which were in the missing bag.
While doing so, Sousa was seen putting a bottle of vodka down his pants and then attempting to leave the store.
