The man, who has not yet been named, was hurt after his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car on Middle Road, close to Heron Bay, following a rainstorm.

The accident, which happened shortly after 5 p.m., blocked the road and resulted in diversions along South Road.

He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was undergoing tests. His condition was not thought to be life threatening.

The delays were made worse shortly afterwards, when a tourist was hurt in a scooter accident on Middle Road at Five Star Island.

The visitor was not seriously hurt.

Police reported several minor accidents following the first heavy rain for several weeks.
