Kenneth Kirk Faries pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to obtaining food from the Cock and Feather Pub on Front Street under false pretences.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said Faries went to the pub around 7 p.m.

on November 27 with a lady friend and ordered drink and food. Around 11 p.m. a bill of $97.15 was brought to his table.

Sgt. Taylor said Faries told the waitress he did not have enough money on him, but that he had a $100 bill in his car.

A security guard at the pub escorted Faries to the car to get the money. But when they arrived at the car Faries got in and drove away.

Senior Magistrate Will Francis ordered Faries to pay $250 or spend 20 days in prison. Faries chose the prison sentence.
