continuing his stay for another two months after appearing in Magistrates' Court.

Denton Jermaine Parris, 29, of Cochrane Road pleaded guilty on Friday to disobeying a traffic sign, having no valid driver's licence and giving a false statement earlier this month.

Parris was stopped by Police when he failed to stop at the junction of King and Victoria Street in Hamilton.

When Officers explained the offence he said "sorry, sorry''.

When he was asked his name he gave Marco Burch. When officers asked to see his driver's licence he said he did not have one.

Officers issued the two tickets in the false name but later realised their mistake when Marco Burch was brought in to Police Station on a different matter.

Magistrate Edward King asked Parris why he should not severely punish him for his crimes.

Parris said: "I'm sorry for my actions. It won't happen again.'' Mr. King sentenced him to 14 days each for the traffic violations and two months for uttering a false statement, to be served concurrently.
