James Capie, 39, arrived on an American Airlines flight from New York to celebrate his marriage, but was arrested after Customs Officers found cannabis in his luggage.

Veronica Daley, prosecuting, said a silver metal case was found to contain cigarette papers and plant material. The New York salesman pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to possession of 3.5 grammes of cannabis.

Capie, staying at the Grotto Bay Hotel, had nothing to say. He was fined $400.
