Off the road a year for drunk driving
to driving while impaired.
Police saw Lars Jensen, of Cavendish Heights, Devonshire swerving from side to side on Par-La-Ville Road, Pembroke at 1.25 a.m. on July 2, Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said.
Officers followed Jensen and stopped him in front BAA field at which time they noticed that he could not steady his cycle and his breath smelled of alcohol.
Jensen was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station where he failed an alco-analyser test. It showed that he had at least 247 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80.
Sgt. Taylor said upon being arrested Jensen told the officers, "So what if I've been drinking''.
Acting Magistrate Kim White banned Jensen from driving all vehicles for 12 months and fined him $500.
