The pair allegedly attacked the man on September 16 and beat him severely with broom sticks. Their trial was set for next April.

Raymond Raynor, of Friswell's Hill, denied in Magistrates' Court he was stopped by Police on the Middle Road in Sandys Parish on October 19 -- four days before he was handed his jail term.

The 25-year-old will stand trial in February.
