Paget's seaside attractions during its annual Palm Sunday walk this weekend.

The walk is scheduled to start and end at Warwick Secondary School.

From 2 p.m. participants will make their way along the six-mile loop that includes Warwick Long Bay, Astwood Park, Marley Beach and Coral Beach.

"Walkers can hike the entire distance, or join the walk at any access point for a shorter journey,'' Trust director Ms Amanda Outerbridge said.

"There is plenty of parking at Warwick Secondary, however, so it is a good place to start.'' Ms Outerbridge said the Trust hosts the walk to promote its commitment to preserving the Island's ecology and to gain public interest in environmental issues.

"Although technically for Trust members, we do encourage the public to join us on the Palm Sunday Walk,'' she said. "We also hope people will take this opportunity to join our organisation.

"We keep our membership fee low -- it is $15 per year -- so that it is affordable for everyone.'' Last year, the walk at Kindley Field attracted 3,000 participants.

This year, walkers will proceed from Warwick Secondary School field along the Railroad Trail, turning south at Tribe Road Number Seven.

The old road runs south, crossing South Road, to Warwick Long Bay where hikers will turn east.

The route winds through the Government park at Astwood Cove, rejoining South Road. Hikers will then pass by Southlands Estate and Marley Beach to the property of the Coral Beach Club.

From there, the walk turns northward again, up Tribe Road Number Five on the west side of Horizons to a refreshment stop at historic "Rosemont'' on Ord Road, a private home. There walkers rejoin the Railroad Trail, heading west back to the starting point in Warwick.

Ms Outerbridge thanked Government Conservation officer Dr. David Wingate who plans the route each year and private property owners who allow hikers to cross their land.
