to driving under the influence of alcohol.

Lester Shaw, of King Street was involved in an accident with a bike on King Street in the City of Hamilton on January 17.

Officers arrived on the scene and noticed that Shaw's breath smelt strongly of alcohol.

He said he would take a breathalyser test and that he had only drunk two beers.

Last week in plea court, Shaw tried to explain to Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner that the bike had hit him.

But Mr. Warner replied this was not relevant to the case and fined him $1,000 and disqualified him from driving for 12 months.
