give people a chance to meet its politicians.

This summer the Party has organised a series of events -- starting with a Community Day tomorrow at Clearwater Beach.

PLP Deputy Chairman Marie Richards said: "People will see a whole different side of their Members of Parliament, Senators and executive officers.

`Branches will get the opportunity to network together and there will be a collective spirit of family.'' Ms Richards added: "People will see their MPs in a relaxed atmosphere and they will get the chance to just chat in a relaxed setting and have fun.

"There is so much going on in the community and so many frustrations that this will be an ideal time to kick off the summer, unwind and be together.'' The Community Day, which is free, will include a treasure hunt, nature walk, rollerblading, tug o' war, a sandcastle competition and "rest and relaxation''.

Other events planned by the PLP include a jazz supper at the Loyalty Inn on July 13. There will also be summer forums and programmes.

The idea is to allow family, friends and politicians to mix and meet to talk about the state of politics and how they think the PLP is doing.

Party organiser David Augustus said: "There's a lot to talk about and strategise about, but it will be politics with a difference as we'll be out together just sharing and it should be a good time for all.'' The Community Day will start at 12 noon and end at 7 p.m.
