Troy Eastmond, 28, made his prediction to senior magistrate the Wor. Will Francis after a heated courtroom session yesterday.

The Derwent Lane resident clashed repeatedly with Police prosecutor Sgt. Peter Giles, eventually accusing him of lying. He later apologised.

Eastmond denies using offensive words, assaulting narcotics officer Dc.

Rudolph Richardson, and obstructing Police on February 4 last year.

Dc. Richardson and Det. Sgt. Stephen Rollin told the court they got a tip-off about Eastmond and went to Ord Road, Paget, where they saw him in a group on the north side of the street.

Dc. Richardson said that after he tried to search Eastmond for drugs, the accused grabbed him around the throat with both hands and squeezed.

Police eventually got him to Somerset Police station but found no drugs on him, said Dc. Richardson.

Eastmond told the court he was sitting on a bike on the south side of the road. He said an officer came up to him and grabbed him by the throat without saying who he was or what he wanted.

Officers then twisted both his arms, he said. In the Police station, he said, the officers tried to plant cannabis on him.

He denied attacking Dc. Richardson or swearing.

He told Mr. Francis: "I have got a better vocabulary than that, sir.'' Sgt.

Giles said Eastmond had previous convictions for cannabis and drug equipment possession, obstruction and assaulting Police.

Mr. Francis, who warned Eastmond several times to behave correctly, adjourned the case until Monday so Eastmond could bring witnesses.

"I know I'm going to be clear when they hit the stand,'' Eastmond said. "I don't know what you're going to do about those lying officers.''
