Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said the scuffle took place near the Dellwood School in Pembroke during the early hours of Friday morning.

Police were called to the school around 1.30 a.m. to assist a security guard who was being hassled by a man.

When they arrived, the offender assaulted the guard. When Police tried to arrest the man, he turned on the arresting officer.

After a struggle, which resulted in damage to the Police car, the man was taken into custody.

WINDOW SMASHED DURING ROBBERY CRM Window smashed during robbery Police are searching for the culprit who smashed a car window to snatch some loose change.

A Police spokesman said the incident took place on Bermudiana Road sometime on Friday night or on Saturday morning.

A 36-year-old Southampton woman said she returned to her car shortly after midnight to find her driver's side window smashed. A small amount of loose change in the car's ashtray was stolen.
