The 32-year-old victim from St. George's said the man, who is known to her, punched her repeatedly inside the club and later outside, knocking her to the ground.

Police are also investigating an attack in Court Street, Pembroke, at around 5.50 p.m. on Friday in which a man was cut above the left eye after being struck with a bottle.

The 28-year-old victim, who is from Southampton, said the man approached him about a matter and hit him with a bottle during the fight.

Minor damage was caused to a car stopped nearby and the victim required medical atttention at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

And a handbag was stolen from a parked car at Midfield Lane, Pembroke, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Friday.

The complainant heard a "vehicle'' enter his driveway, Police say, around 7.25 p.m. and then heard it leave. He checked and found his colour television had been stolen.
