The 24-year-old woman claimed she was subjected to a serious sexual assault by a man who was known to her. The incident occurred early on Saturday.

The victim was not treated in hospital and is still on the Island as Police inquiries continue.

Yesterday morning a 33-year-old St. George's man was arrested in connection with the incident. Police said he is assisting with their inquiries.
