A Police spokesperson yesterday said the alleged incident took place around 2.30 p.m. on Thursday.

The hearing-impaired toddler had been with his mother in Gibbons Company for a short time before she noticed he was missing.

Further inquiries by the mother revealed the boy had left the store with a man.

The mother, along with a female witness, then ran down Church Street and found the man and the young boy outside the Bermuda Optical Company.

The child was grabbed out of the suspect's grasp and the mother reported the incident to Police in the evening.

The suspect was described as brown-skinned, about 5ft 10in, clean cut with a close haircut and wearing black trousers with an olive green dress shirt.
