Rodney Simons, 23, of Railway Trail, Sandys, is charged with threatening behaviour after Police attended a family dispute at his home.

Prosecuting, Sgt. Earl Kirby said that Police found furniture had been overturned when they arrived at the house.

"In the back yard they saw Simons running towards them, threatening them with a pick axe handle.

"He dropped it and ran away. They found him behind a vehicle. He told them: `Touch me and I will kill you.' He smelled of intoxicants.'' Simons is on probation but Mr. Judge asked for a social inquiry report and adjourned the case.

Mr. Judge added: "You obviously have a problem. I am prepared to do my utmost to keep you off skid row but if you are determined to go there the whole array of heaven cannot stop you.'' VEGETABLES STOLEN CRM Vegetables stolen Produce was stolen from a farmer's field in Paget over the Christmas weekend, Police said yesterday.

Twenty heads of broccoli, 20 ears of cauliflower, and 30 heads of cabbage were reported taken.

The vegetables, which Police expect the thief will attempt to sell quickly, are sprayed with the pesticide Ambush. But a Department of Agriculture official said it does not constitute a health risk.

HOLIDAY BREAK-INS CRM Holiday break-ins Police reported three more break-ins on the Island on Tuesday.

A house on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish was ransacked on Sunday, but Police believe the intruder was disturbed as nothing was taken.

A bag containing stereo equipment from the house was found outside.

Meanwhile, a grey, seven-inch Zenith television was stolen from a home on Granaway Heights Road in Southampton.

And an unknown quantity of cigarettes, chocolates, and peanuts were stolen from a business on Serpentine Road in Pembroke.

THIEVES BUSY CRM Thieves busy Thieves were busy over the holiday period, Police said yesterday.

Tools were stolen from a van parked on Lorraine Drive in Warwick on Sunday night. And a diamond sapphire ring was reported stolen from a Pembroke guest house. Police believe the theft occurred on Saturday when a woman left her handbag unattended in the lounge.

ROBBERY PROBE CRM Robbery probe A 30-year-old Southampton man is in Police custody following a Christmas Eve robbery on Horseshoe Road in Southampton.

Police reported a 74-year-old man was attacked and robbed of $375 at about 11 p.m. He was assaulted from behind and thrown to the ground by his attacker, who then fled, Police said. The investigation is continuing.
