Policeman injured
a collision with a car at the weekend.
P.c. Peter Philpott was injured after his Police motorcycle was in collision with a Nissan March on South Road, Paget.
The officer -- who was thrown from his machine by the impact -- was rushed to the King Edward VII Hospital, where yesterday a spokeswoman described his condition as "satisfactory'' after surgery.
The accident happened near the Ice Queen in Paget as the car turned right into the fast-food outlet's car park on Friday night. The woman car driver was unhurt.
A Police spokesman said P.c. Philpott was on routine patrol and not responding to an incident when the accident happened.
And he appealed for witnesses to the accident -- which happened around 8.20 p.m. -- to come forward.
Anyone who can help the Police with their inquiries should contact Sgt.
Russell Matthews on 295-0011.
A black Daihatsu Charade was stolen at the weekend.
The car, registration number 29399, which was parked on Cut Road, St.
George's, was stolen sometime on Friday.
