Pembroke man who was allegedly trying to avoid being arrested.

Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said the episode took place on Angle Street around 8.30 p.m. on Friday when Task Force officers approached the Pembroke man, who was in a car with another person.

As Police approached, the passenger bolted from the car and the suspect quickly wound up the windows and locked both doors.

The man then started the engine and reversed, hitting one of the Task Force officers in the legs. The car was brought to a stop after it collided with three parked cars.

The driver attempted to flee but was restrained by officers and taken to Hamilton Police Station.

Mrs. James Barnett said the man should appear in Plea Court this morning.

A 13-year-old Smith's youth was being questioned by Police following an incident at a Middle School.

Officers seized a quantity of what is believed to be drugs from the youngster at the Spice Valley Middle School Friday morning. Police inquiries are continuing.

And a 24-year-old Devonshire man was arrested by Police after he reportedly threw a trash can at a nightclub's door, striking a member of the staff.

Mrs. James Barnett said Police were called to the Ambassador's Club on Reid Street after the man became embroiled in a fight with one of the security guards.

The injured worker suffered a swollen face.
