Keith Gordon, a self-avowed crack addict, was supposedly scheduled to go abroad to participate in a drug treatment programme at the beginning of August. But The Royal Gazette understands that despite a private arrangement made by American Consulate General Robert Farmer, Gordon was stopped at the airport.

A source said Mr. Farmer had agreed to arrange for Gordon to receive treatment in the US. But there were reportedly strict guidelines that were to be enforced. Gordon was not to travel anywhere alone and was to be escorted directly to the treatment clinic. Gordon, 46, of Victoria Street was recently charged with possessing drug equipment. Gordon failed to appear in Magistrates' Court for trial on Monday, and there is currently a warrant out for his arrest.
