Punch up between friends A punch up between two pals, which left one of them unconscious, forced a pub to close in the early hours of Monday morning -- but

Police arrested a 38-year-old Pembroke man after the assault at the Henry VIII restaurant on South Shore Road, Southampton.

The victim was found unconscious shortly after midnight and was taken to hospital and treated for cuts to his head after the attack.

The suspect was taken to Somerset Police station -- it is not clear whether the victim will press charges.

The restaurant's assistant Maitre'D Jane Staines said: "It was really all over nothing, neither of them can remember a thing about it.

"It all happened so quickly. Even our bar staff didn't see it.

"There were one or two punches and a kick, we called Police and an ambulance and stopped the entertainment and basically closed down for the night.

"They are still best friends. The guy called to apologise -- he wants to come in and see the manager and say it's out of character.''
