Rally behind PLP, NLP chief urges

work together in the wake of the PLP's landslide victory. National Liberal Party chief Charles Jeffers said: "Despite our partisan or personal preferences, as Bermudians and residents, we owe it to ourselves, our children, and generations to come to work together.

"We must continue to address both the social and economic issues that will ensure that Bermuda remains strong and becomes an even better place for all who call Bermuda home.'' Mr. Jeffers' party -- which fielded four unsuccessful candidates for last Monday's poll -- lost its one remaining MP at the 1993 General Election.

Mr. Jeffers added: "We have pledged to do what we can to ensure Bermuda's continued prosperity and growth.''
