Bermuda Regiment spokesman Maj. David Gibbons said soldiers from "A'' and "B'' company and some of "Support'' company will leave Bermuda on a charter flight at 10 a.m. on Saturday for the US Marine Corps Base of Camp Lejeune.

Members of the Regiment Band and Corps of Drums will also leave with the soldiers who will train in a mock urban village, using the Marine Corps firing ranges and conducting exercises in crowd control.

Meanwhile, the Regiment Band will train with the US Marine Corps band before departing for a five-day promotional jaunt throughout the south east region of the United States.

Garth Pedro Peters has arranged the tour which will include performances by the band at the Marriott Executive Park Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina on Tuesday, at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Raleigh Durham, North Carolina on Wednesday, at the Doubletree Hotel in Atlanta on Thursday, and at the Guest Quarters Hotel in the same city on Friday.

Bermuda Hotel Sales representatives, leisure and group travel wholesalers, the media, and members of the general public have been invited to each of the performances.

The band will return to Camp Lejeune on Saturday to continue their two-week training.

The Regiment group of 328 people is scheduled to return to Bermuda on May 6.
