Courses with both schools are open to all Bermuda residents.

Credits are considered residency credits for degrees with the schools, or can be transferred to other American schools. Certificates and degree programmes up to bachelor's level are offered.

The colleges offer five eight-week terms each school year, with classes held two evenings per week, from 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Weekend classes and 16-week courses with classes one evening per week are occasionally offered.

Registration takes place on the week starting January 4, and the new term begins the following week.

In the January, 1993 term, the University of Maryland is offering courses on American Government, Foreign Policy of the USSR, Business Law I, Business Writing, Psychology of Motivating Subordinates in the Workplace, and Career Development and Decision Making.

City Colleges is offering Fundamentals of Accounting I, Principles of Retailing, Introduction to Data Processing, Introduction to Programming Logic, English Composition I and II, Intermediate Algebra, the National Government, Psychology of Personal Growth, and a one-credit Saturday course called Study Skills and Research Methods.
