Burnt House Hill, Harbour Road and The Lane will be closed between Middle Road in Warwick and the north roundabout in Paget will be closed between 9 a.m. and 11.30 a.m.

Stowe Hill between South Road and The Lane will also be closed during those hours.

Dutton Avenue will be closed between Marsh Folly Road and North Street between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.

And traffic travelling on Somerset Bridge, between Wreck Road and the Railway Trail, will be stopped to allow the Heritage Cycle Riders safe passage.

Police issued a reminder to the public that at 9 a.m. on Monday, 45 cyclists will take part in the Heritage Cycle Race from Somerset, along the Marathon Derby route to Cedar Avenue in Hamilton.

After the cyclists pass Hog Bay Level, around 9.15 a.m., a group of In-Line skaters will race along the same route as the cyclists to the finish on Cedar Avenue.

At 9.30 a.m. the Annual Marathon Derby will start from Somerset Village to Bernard Park in Pembroke.

The route will take runners east along Somerset Road, across Somerset Bridge, along Middle Road to Burnt House Hill and then to Harbour Road.

The runners will continue along The Lane to Crow Lane, west on Front Street, north onto Queen Street, east on Church Street, north on King Street, west on Victoria Street, north on Cedar Avenue, onto Marsh Folly Road, south onto Dutton Avenue and then into Bernard Park.

The first of the runners should reach Bernard Park by 10.50 a.m.

And the Junior Classic Run will also start at 9.30 a.m. at the Cenotaph on Front Street.

The junior runners will race west on Front Street, north into Queen Street, east on Church Street, north on King Street, west on Victoria Street, north on Cedar Avenue, onto Marsh Folly Road, south on Dutton Avenue and then into Bernard Park.

Police also issued a reminder to non-race pedal cycle riders not to attempt to ride the race route.

The advisory stated that pedal cycle riders will be stopped and diverted off the route since "they can be as much a danger to the runners as any other vehicles''.

At 2 p.m. an array of majorettes, floats, dancers and Gombeys will take to the streets for the Annual Heritage Day Parade.

Spectators should have no trouble in finding the perfect spot to watch the colourful display, as the route will cover plenty of ground.

The parade will commence from Woodlands Road and proceed down Par-La-Ville Road, along Church Street, onto Queen Street.

After travelling along Front Street the revellers will make their way up Court Street, back to Church Street, to Cedar Avenue and into Bernard Park.
