A machete-wielding robber struck at a Pembroke supermarket last night.

The man escaped with an unspecified amount of cash from Arnold's Supermarket on St. John's Road.

The incident took place at 9.30 p.m., Police said.

Late last night Police, who were busy combing St. John's Road for the culprit, were unable to provide further information.

Workers at the store last night confirmed that no one was injured in the incident but revealed that the man made off with cash after he reached into the till.
