The masked crook struck at the Middle Road store at about 9.45 p.m. and threatened a man behind the counter.

Police said he escaped with a "quantity of cash'', although they have refused to disclose the amount. The robber has a Bermudian accent, is slightly built, and was wearing a brown hooded top. The mask was black. It is the latest of several robberies at Belvin's.

"We do not know whether he escaped by foot or bike. We are appealing for witnesses,'' said a Police spokeswoman.
